St Chad Charity Event
About 500 Laser Plumbing & Electrical tradespeople converged in Rotorua this June for the trans-Tasman LaserCon 2018 conference. As part of the event, they and their families spent a day at St Chads fixing plumbing and electrical issues, as well as carrying out general maintenance.

Conferences Giving Back
June is typically a busy month in Rotorua, with the city hosting a number of large conferences. One to note is LaserCon which saw over 500 Laser Group electricians and plumbers fly, drive and bus in from all over NZ and Australia. The majority of the delegates were here for four nights, the conference programme had them attend a number of amazing social functions at Te Puia, Skyline and Hobbiton, with the main event and gala dinner held at the Energy Events Centre.

Laser Tradies Make a Difference
One hundred plumbers and electricians from Laser Plumbing & Electrical recently delivered over $100,000 worth of work in eight hours as part of LaserCon 2018. As well as replacing hot water services and air conditioners, the tradies fitted out new bathrooms and lighting in the building recently purchased by the St Chads Trust to help them deliver a growing service to the Rotorua community.

Building the future with 100,000 fee-free apprenticeships
Casino-based apprentice plumber Matthew Nagas is embracing his opportunities through vocational education and training (VET). The 31-year-old was employed as a labourer on the John Holland-led Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment project when local company Laser Plumbing and Electrical offered him work as a plumbing trades assistant, then took him on as an apprentice. Today, Matthew is part of the crew working on the Clarence Correctional Centre near Grafton, the construction of which is also contracted to John Holland.

Laser Electrical, Bunbury apprentice wins Legrand Australia 2018 WA ‘Apprentice of the Year'
The team at Laser Electrical, Bunbury are celebrating the immense achievements of one of their newly-qualified electricians. Baz Wallace recently won the Legrand Australia 2018 WA Apprentice of the Year prize at the 2018 Master Electricians Australia Awards.
