Laser Plumbing & Electrical are proud to support the work of Beyondblue with their support motivated by some harsh statistics.
45% of Australians experience a mental health issue during their lives with construction workers more than twice as likely to suicide as other Australians. MATES in Construction also found that apprentices are 2 ½ times more likely to die by suicide compared to other men their age and young men living in remote areas were 6 times more likely to suicide than those living in city areas.
With over 100 Members located throughout Australia working on construction sites, hiring apprentices and located in regional areas, these statistics directly impact the business.
In 2015, a group of Laser Members and staff took on the Kokoda challenge, inspired to make a difference and raise funds and awareness for the work of Beyondblue. In September, they handed over the results of their work to Beyondblue CEO, Georgie Harman.
